Kevin Peterson has lived in Mammoth Lakes since 1982 and has been guiding the waters of the Eastern Sierra for over 34years. His love for the outdoors and fly fishing and his skills as a teacher make him a natural for this sport.  He is the ex-co-owner of both The Trout Fly and The TroutFitter as well as the lead guide for both shops. As an F.F.F. certified casting instructor, Kevin can teach the beginner all of the skills needed to start a lifetime of fly fishing adventures or even teach that old dog a new trick or two. He  guided  for the prestigious Clearwater House on Hat creek in Northern California for 6 years and has been featured on four episodes of Inside Sportfishing on the Fox network as well as three episodes of "Familiar Waters" with Mike Pawlawski on The Outdoor Channel. Beyond his obvious credentials, Kevin's greatest asset  has been his adaptability in meeting the needs of our varied clientele. Kevin moves effortlessly from working patiently with a first-time beginner one day to an all-out assault on a technical stream with a seasoned angler the next. He is now in his 6th year as Manager of Hot Creek Ranch. Come spend the day and find out why Kevin has so many clients he calls  "FRIEND"!

Gary Hooper has lived in the Mammoth area for over thirty three years and has been guiding fly fishing for the last twenty. He was lead guide for Ricks sports center for several years before going to work for the TroutFitter in 2001. Teaching kids and families and introducing clients to out of the way spots are some his favorite things to do. He is not only great with beginners but  has the experience to take the more seasoned angler to the next level. He is at home on Spring Creeks,  rivers and lakes as well as the backcountry . Midge fishing on Crowley has become one of his specialities. A few of his hobbies include Tarpon fishing, Turkey hunting and hiking the back country of the Sierras in search of wild trout
Gary is FFF certified and a very talented and patient casting instructor and guide!
In 2002, Dave Neal successfully completed the Clearwater House Guide School in Northern California and promptly began working & guiding for The Trout Fly & Troutfitter fly shops in the town of Mammoth Lakes. He is a full-time year-round fly fishing guide who feels that he has the best office view in the world.
His hobbies & passions include his wife and daughter, telemark and x-c skiing, hiking/camping and reading books.  When he's not stalking trout with a fly rod, he enjoys the contrast and challenge of chasing steelhead in the coastal rivers and hunting the flats for salt water species like bonefish and permit.
He is great with kids, loves to teach and is extremely patient with his clients.

In the spring of 2002 Brad Mcfall  attended the Clearwater Guide School and began his guide career. That summer Brad spent many days shadowing the Senior guides of the Tout Fly and TroutFitter, soaking up every bit of knowledge he could squeeze out of them, quickly becoming one of the star junior guides! He has  become on of the best guides in the area and we are proud to have him working with us.
Brad truly takes pride in teaching people the different arts of fly fishing. He enjoys giving "casting clinics" from the first timer to the very advanced caster, and is currently working on getting his FFF casting certification. From the technical spring creek tactics of Hot Creek and the Upper Owens River, to the beautiful landscape and wild fish of the scenic San Joaquin River, to (where Brad spends most of his time), going after the trophy Brown Trout of the East Walker River. No matter what you're after, Brad will always cater to your personal needs and give you that outdoor experience that you will remember for a lifetime!
Pat Jeager made his home in the Eastern Sierras in 1978, where he fished and explored the area extensively. In 1995 his passion turned into his profession. His internship was served under the wings of his partners from The Trout Fly in Mammoth Lakes and The Clearwater House on Hat Creek.
His objectives as a guide, are to find out your visions, expectations and goals, and to find water that will give you the best opportunity to hook fish.
His goal is to simplify the essence of fly-fishing to the newest of fishermen and to challenge the most advanced of anglers and promise to provide trust, safety, good food and great memories to all his guests. If great energy is what you look for in a guide, Pat is your man!

Eric Hein, or "Otis" as we all lovingly call him, has been guiding the waters of the Eastern Sierra since 1991. He loves taking  clients to Crowley Lake in search of those monster Rainbows sipping Mayflies in the shallows of "Po Mans" and then taking them on a walk up the Owens river for the resident Browns, "he knows where they live"! He is as comfortable on the San Joaquin as he is on the East Walker or Grant Lake. Otis loves to teach and fish with kids and families, these are some of his most loyal clients! He loves to fish almost as much as he loves telling a good story! One thing for sure, is that you will have a great day of fishing and not soon forget your day with "Otie"! When he's not on the water, you might find him pouring drinks and telling fish stories at Angels restaurant.
